Before, whenever someone in the group shouted "I saw XXX buying on the chain," I would get itchy to chase after it, but then I looked back and realized that most likely it was the node/RPC/index feeding you "delayed reality"...
You think you're watching a live broadcast, but it's actually a replay, and it might even be different for different people.
Now I prefer to wait for a few more confirmations, switch between several RPCs to compare, and then check if the fund flow is from the same set of wallets performing a show, to be honest, people who got rug-pulled don't believe "just now."
As for social mining, fan tokens, and that "attention equals mining" approach, I feel it's more like taking everyone's attention and using it as fuel to burn; the excitement is real, but what's really happening on the chain is easier to get confused by.
Let's leave it at that for now; taking it slow isn't shameful.
