These past couple of days, I really felt a bit overwhelmed: I was watching the "on-chain" data like I was binge-watching a TV series, but the plot was still delayed... You think you're seeing the truth, but what you're actually looking at might be some "leftover dish" served up by a node/RPC. Sometimes the indexing service lags behind, or just stalls for a moment, and you still think big players haven't moved, but they've already packed up and left.

Recently, someone was criticizing the on-chain data tools and tagging systems for being laggy, and I started to believe it: tags, to be honest, are also quite "storytelling," and a little misinformation can set the rhythm. When I see familiar tags, I get itchy to act, only to realize later that I was fed a false lead.

Anyway, now I treat data as a reference first, not an oracle. Better to be a bit slow than chase after delays and rush in. What I’ve learned isn’t a skill, but that... the chain can also "lag," so don’t mistake anxiety for alpha.
