According to Bloomingbit, the Korea Communications Standards Commission has initiated an investigation into the global prediction market platform Polymarket to determine whether it constitutes an illegal gambling website under Korean law.
The commission officials stated that they have recently received complaints related to Polymarket and are reviewing overseas regulatory cases and whether it may encourage gambling; Polymarket is still accessible in Korea and offers services in Korean.
If it targets Korean users, even if its servers are located overseas, it may still be subject to the commission's regulation.
