I just came across a pretty crazy historical story. In 19th century São Paulo, Brazil, there was a slave named Pata Seca, whose real name was Roque José Florêncio. This guy was 2.18 meters tall, and the estate owner at the time came up with an idea—let him specifically "reproduce" offspring.
Guess what, it is said that Roque José Florêncio fathered between 200 and 300 children in his lifetime. After slavery was abolished, he was given a piece of land, married, and had 9 more children. Records say this guy lived to 130 years old, and thousands of people came to his funeral.
The most outrageous part is that locals say one-third of their city’s population are descendants of Pata Seca. One man’s fate literally turned him into a legendary symbol. This kind of cross-century influence truly makes one marvel at the weight of history and the legendary nature of individuals.
