I just reviewed some interesting data from the World Gold Council, and the truth is that the amount of gold in the world is much less than one might imagine. According to the latest reports from 2024, the total volume of gold mined so far is approximately 216,000 tons. If we add up all the underground reserves we have already identified, we reach just over 348,000 tons.

The fascinating thing is to visualize this: all that gold would fit into a cube just 21 meters on each side. To give you an idea, it's roughly the size of a common apartment building. Thinking about it, it's not as much as it seems.

Now, if we divide that total volume of gold among the 8 billion people on the planet, each person would theoretically be entitled to about 23 kilograms. It sounds good in theory, but of course, reality is very different. This shows us how much gold is really in the world and why it remains so valuable. Relative scarcity continues to be the key factor in the markets.
