I just discovered something interesting about Harmattan AI, this Parisian startup making quite a buzz right now. They are aiming to become the European Anduril with a massive funding round.

So here it is, Harmattan AI is looking to raise 200 million dollars to develop its AI-equipped military drones. That's no small ambition. Launched in April 2024, the company has already secured 30 million from FirstMark and Atlantic Labs, showing there is already trust behind the project. The fundraising campaign is clearly massive.

What’s crazy is their roadmap. They are working on three types of drones: training systems, surveillance, and weapon interception. And they plan to produce 10,000 drones per month in France by 2026, with factories also planned in Germany and the United States. This shows real industrial ambition.

But the wildest part is that they have already signed a multi-million dollar contract with NATO for small AI drones. Deliveries were scheduled for October. And in France, the Ministry of Defense ordered 1,000 drones to be delivered before the end of 2025. So we’re not talking about vague promises; there are already concrete orders.

Harmattan AI truly represents a turning point for European defense. It’s rare to see a French startup succeed so quickly in the military segment. The funding and government contracts show that Harmattan AI is starting to make a serious impact in the European geopolitical landscape. Stay tuned.
