Honestly, when you look at which currency is the least valuable in the world, it makes you dizzy. I just came across a list that shows where the dollar is worth the most – and the extreme cases are simply crazy.

Venezuela tops the charts: 1 USD equals over 4 million Bolivar. Iran is also at the absolute bottom with 514,000 Rial per dollar. Then come Laos, Sierra Leone, Lebanon – all countries with massive economic problems. In Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Nigeria, it’s not much better either.

What fascinates me: these countries have one thing in common – their currencies are continuously devaluing. Hyperinflation, political instability, sanctions – the reasons vary, but the result is always the same. The dollar remains strong, while local currencies drift away like leaves in the wind.

If you want to know which currency is the least valuable, you just need to look at this list. Pretty bleak how global financial problems are reflected in these numbers. It also shows why some countries are starting to look for alternatives.
