I just saw many of you asking about trading futures, so I want to share my personal perspective on this issue.
Actually, futures are not inherently bad. The problem lies in how we use them. Many people compare trading futures to gambling or betting, but in reality, they are completely different because futures can be analyzed. The biggest difference is that you can control the risk ratio. Whether you use 1x, 10x, or 125x leverage, if you manage your capital well, they are essentially the same.
I am a trader seeking daily profits, so I can't just hold coins and wait. That’s why trading futures appeals to me. The clear advantage is the ability to trade continuously, making profits every day instead of waiting for big waves like in spot trading. The profits can be withdrawn immediately, without waiting. And the profits can increase proportionally with your capital.
But the disadvantages are not small either. It’s easy to lose all your capital if your psychology isn’t strong. It can cause sleepless nights like gambling. Without strict capital management, it can be just like gambling, easily going all-in. The most dangerous part is that it can be addictive because of its stimulating nature.
For me, I still prioritize spot trading when my capital is large enough to sustain daily profits from futures, then switch to long-term holding. Futures are not bad; they only become bad when we treat them like a gambling game.
I often hear people blaming high leverage, but that’s a big misunderstanding. Trading futures with 5x leverage but with a $1,000 order is the same as trading 125x with a $40 order. The truth is, it all comes down to greed and weak psychology. Don’t blame the tool; look at yourself.
