Just read something that's been sitting with me. Janice McAfee, widow of John McAfee, has been living in Spain for over three years now dealing with something most of us can't even imagine. Her husband died in a Barcelona prison back in 2023, and she's still trying to figure out what actually happened.

Here's what gets me - she's working odd jobs just to survive. No money. No closure. And the authorities won't release his autopsy report. An independent autopsy could cost 30,000 euros, which she doesn't have. She's been trying for years to get answers, but keeps hitting walls.

Janice says she talks to people all the time who still can't believe John is actually gone. They were in contact every single day while he was imprisoned. She has real questions about the circumstances - things that don't add up to her, especially about the emergency response when they found him. She's not trying to fight the system or prove anything. She just wants to know what happened to her husband.

The financial side is wild too. John McAfee went from being worth over $100 million to basically nothing by the time he died. He'd been arrested on tax evasion charges, claimed he had no money, and there's no will or estate. So Janice is left with nothing while trying to process this loss.

What strikes me most is that Janice McAfee isn't asking for justice or revenge. She just wants to fulfill John's wishes to be cremated and get some peace. She wants him to be remembered properly. After everything - the legal battles, the prison time, the questions about what really happened - she just wants closure.

There's also a Netflix documentary that came out called 'Running with the Devil' that she feels didn't tell the real story. It sensationalized things rather than exploring why John felt like he had to live the way he did.

Janice McAfee is still in Spain, still hoping that someday she'll have the resources for that independent autopsy. She's not looking for sympathy - she's looking for answers. And honestly, after reading about her situation, I think she deserves at least that much.
