I just noticed an interesting trend – the wealth of the world's richest person and his neighbors on the ranking has skyrocketed. We're talking about January 2026, when the personal fortunes of the top 10 wealthiest people on the planet broke all historical records.

Elon Musk remains the richest person in the world with an incredible $726 billion. This is an unprecedented level of personal wealth – no one in history has reached such a figure. His growth is fueled by SpaceX's surge, the expansion of Starlink, positions in Tesla, and influence across the entire AI sector.

Following him are tech giants. Larry Page (Google) in second place with $270 billion – Alphabet dominates in artificial intelligence. Jeff Bezos is third with $255 billion, supported by AWS and the logistics empire Amazon.

Next are Sergey Brin ($251 billion), Larry Ellison ($248 billion), Mark Zuckerberg ($233 billion). Then come Bernard Arnault with $205 billion, Steve Ballmer with $170 billion, Jensen Huang with $156 billion, and Warren Buffett rounds out the top 10 with $151 billion.

What drives this explosion of wealth? First, exponential growth in AI and cloud computing – this has rewritten the entire economy. Second, space and semiconductors have skyrocketed in value. Third, American tech companies simply dominate globally. And fourth, founders who haven't sold their shares have received huge multipliers on their investments.

The richest person in the world is now just a symbol of this era – when tech entrepreneurs are rewriting the rules of the game. It will be interesting to see what happens next if these trends continue to develop in the same direction.
