A few years ago, I discovered quite a crazy story. Ted Jorgensen, a guy who ran a bike shop in Arizona, found out in 2013 that he was the biological father of Jeff Bezos. Yes, the founder of Amazon. Completely insane, right?
The thing is, Ted Jorgensen had no idea about this before. An author writing a book about Bezos casually dropped the info to him. When Jorgensen saw photos of Bezos, he was stunned. Truly.
What struck me was his honest reaction. He said directly, "I wasn't a good father or a good husband." No excuses, no fuss. Just brutal honesty.
Later, Ted Jorgensen expressed a desire to reconnect with the Bezos family. But apparently, USA TODAY couldn't reach him for more details. The story ends there, a bit hanging in the air. It's one of those anecdotes that makes you think about life, regrets, and how things can change in a second.
