Rubio: Progress in US-Iran negotiations, but no guarantee the agreement will be finalized

BlockBeats News, May 22 — According to Xinhua News Agency, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said on the 21st that negotiations between the United States and Iran have made some progress, but he cannot guarantee that an agreement will definitely be reached. He also stated that if a "good agreement" cannot be reached, "everyone is clear" about the other options available to the United States.

Pompeo traveled from Miami, Florida, to Sweden to attend the NATO foreign ministers' meeting. He told the media at the airport that President Trump’s top priority is to reach a "good agreement," and the U.S. "will do everything possible to achieve this goal," but "the President has also made it clear that if a good agreement cannot be reached, he has other alternatives."

Pompeo said that while some positive signs have emerged, he does not want to appear overly optimistic. "So, let’s see what happens in the next few days."

Is Trump's "Other Options" translated as sanctions or military?

Rubio's words are as if he didn't say anything, classic diplomatic language.
