Let's figure out who the richest person in the world is right now. Honestly, the numbers I saw earlier this year are simply mind-blowing.
Elon Musk holds the top spot with a net worth of about $726 billion. It's just incredible — no one in modern history has accumulated that much personal wealth. His fortune is growing thanks to SpaceX, which is experiencing a valuation boom, the expansion of Starlink, Tesla stock, and his influence in AI and neurotechnology. Musk has somehow pulled ahead of the rest by a significant margin.
Next are the tech giants. Larry Page, one of Google's founders, is in second place with approximately $270 billion. Alphabet dominates the AI space, and this is reflected positively in his wealth. Jeff Bezos is third, with around $255 billion. Amazon, especially AWS, continues to generate huge profits.
Then come Sergey Brin with $251 billion, Larry Ellison with $248 billion, and Mark Zuckerberg with $233 billion. Bernard Arnault from LVMH ranks sixth with $205 billion — it's interesting to see the luxury sector in this list. Steve Ballmer, Jensen Huang from NVIDIA, and Warren Buffett round out the top 10.
What's happening here? The answer is simple: artificial intelligence and cloud computing have skyrocketed exponentially. Space technologies and semiconductors are experiencing a valuation boom. The US still dominates the tech space, and founders who held onto their shares have simply gained big.
So, who is the richest person in the world? At the moment, it's definitely Musk. But it's interesting to see how quickly the balance of power can change at the top. The tech sector remains the main driver of global wealth.
