Recently, I came across the story of Erik Finman, and I must say it is quite fascinating. This guy did something that many dream of but few dare: turning a passion for Bitcoin into a fortune before reaching adulthood.

It all started when Erik Finman was 12 years old. During a simple walk with his brother, he saw a guy wearing a T-shirt with the Bitcoin symbol. Curiosity, a question, and boom - from that moment he realized that traditional school was not what he wanted. While his peers worried about homework, he started obsessively researching Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.

The real turning point came when his grandmother gave him $1,000. He didn’t spend it on video games or vacations - he invested it in Bitcoin when the price was around $10 per coin. About 100 Bitcoins. He recalls spending hours every day trading while most kids his age were in class.

But here’s the exciting part: when Erik Finman decided to drop out of school in 2013 (just when Bitcoin’s price hit $1,200), his parents didn’t simply allow it. They made a bet with him. If he became a millionaire before his 18th birthday, he wouldn’t have to go to college. Imagine the weight of such a challenge at 15 years old.

It wasn’t easy. An executive from a major tech company discouraged him, telling him he would never win that bet. But Erik Finman didn’t give up. He founded Botangle, an online education platform, in 2014. When he sold it, he received an interesting offer: $100,000 or 300 Bitcoins. At that time, Bitcoin had dropped to about $200 per coin. Most would have taken the cash. He chose Bitcoin.

And guess what? He won the bet. Before his 18th birthday, Erik Finman was already a millionaire. With Bitcoin rising above $2,700, he found himself among the youngest crypto millionaires in the world. At age 20, he owned Bitcoin assets valued at over $5 million.

Today, with nearly a decade of market experience, Erik Finman remains convinced that cryptocurrencies are the future. In an interview, he said something straightforward: if you don’t become a millionaire in the next 10 years, it’s your fault. Not because it’s easy, but because opportunities are there - you just need to recognize them and have the courage to act.

Now he’s working on Freedom Phone, a smartphone focused on free speech and privacy. What strikes about Erik Finman isn’t just his fortune, but his consistency: he understood early where the market was heading and had the courage to bet on himself when no one took him seriously.
