Yesterday, I came across an analysis of a nasty scheme on Telegram — it turns out there's a way to quickly delete someone else's account, and this is already spreading widely across Telegram channels. The essence is simple and insidious: a scammer claims to be from Telegram support, sends a link to a bot, and asks to click /start supposedly for verification. Most people, of course, ignore it, but some still click. And then it begins: the scammer transfers the ownership rights of the bot to your account, renames it to @TelegramAdmin or something similar, and then reports are sent for phishing to that bot. Telegram sees a suspicious bot with your account as the owner — and your account gets banned. There's also a second, older method: they send a threat of deletion, send a link to "official verification," the person enters their data — and that's it, the account is stolen. Truly a harsh scam. Be cautious with links from "support," even if they look convincing.
