CryptoWorld News reports that the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and the National Hockey League (NHL) have reached a new Memorandum of Understanding aimed at coordinating regulation of popular prediction markets. The NHL agrees to share event contract information related to its games with the CFTC. CFTC Chairman Mike Selig said that this agreement is an important step toward protecting sports integrity and market participants from abuses such as insider trading and fraud. Betting on prediction markets has seen explosive growth in recent years, but it has also raised concerns about abuse and cheating.
