Been looking at the robotics etf space lately and there's actually some solid options if you're trying to get exposure to the automation and AI boom. The market data from a couple years back showed the industrial robotics sector was projected to hit nearly 80 billion by 2029, and service robots heading toward 85 billion. Pretty massive growth trajectory.
The biggest robotics etf out there is still BOTZ with around 2.78 billion in assets, holding companies like NVIDIA, ABB, and Intuitive Surgical. Then you've got ROBO which has been around longer with 78 holdings spread across developed and emerging markets. If you want something more focused on the AI angle, IRBO has over 110 holdings and decent exposure to tech services. ROBT is another one people track, launched back in 2018, mostly tech and manufacturing focused.
There's also UBOT if you want leveraged exposure, though that's more of a specialized play. The sector's definitely gotten investor attention over the past couple years. Most of these robotics etf products lean heavy on large-cap tech names, which makes sense given how much capital these companies need for R&D. Worth checking current holdings if you're considering jumping in though, market moves fast.
