Deep Tide TechFlow News, May 21 — According to The Block, the wife of Sebastien Borget, co-founder and COO of the metaverse project The Sandbox, was involved in an attempted kidnapping at their residence in Villenoy, France, this week. The report states that the suspect disguised himself as a delivery person to enter the yard, then five masked accomplices broke in and attempted to force her into a vehicle, but the attempt failed after neighbors heard her cries for help and intervened. Police have arrested two suspects, and four others are at large. French media reports indicate that preliminary investigations suggest this case may be related to cryptocurrency. Data shows that since January 1, 2026, France has recorded 41 cases of kidnapping or attempted kidnapping related to cryptocurrencies.
