Developers complain about Google's AI product ecosystem fragmentation: internal promotion mechanisms lead to constantly "reinventing the wheel"
According to Beating Monitoring, tech blogger Gergely Orosz revealed that there are serious biases in Google's internal promotion system. Employees can only achieve internal promotions and rewards by developing entirely new products, while maintaining existing systems or assisting old users with migration are considered to have no promotion value. This incentive-driven approach causes Google to repeatedly release new products each year to meet similar demands.

Developer Nathan Clark listed how this mechanism has led to extreme fragmentation within Google's AI ecosystem. The model side is forcibly split into versions like Pro, Ultra, and Flash. The ecosystem side swings between Gemini and AI Studio, and the Workspace version and personal version of Google
