US media: US intelligence shows Iran rapidly rebuilding its military strength; if bombing resumes, it still poses a significant threat
BlockBeats News, May 21 — According to CNN, two sources familiar with U.S. intelligence assessments say that Iran has restarted some drone production during the six-week ceasefire that began in early April, indicating that Iran is rapidly rebuilding certain military capabilities damaged by U.S. and Israeli strikes. Four sources say U.S. intelligence shows Iran's reconstruction speed is far faster than initial estimates. The sources indicate that the rebuilding of Iran's military capabilities, including replacing missile sites, launchers, and production capabilities for key weapons systems destroyed in the conflict, means that if Trump resumes bombing operations, Iran will still pose a significant threat to regional allies. This also raises questions about the extent to which U.S. and Israeli strikes have weakened Iran's military capabilities in the long term.
An American official revealed that although the timing of restarting production of different weapon components varies, some U.S. intelligence estimates suggest Iran could fully rebuild its drone attack capabilities within six months. "The Iranians have surpassed all timelines set by intelligence for reconstruction," said the U.S. official. (Jin10)
