Macquarie: Reduces Bitcoin ETF holdings, bets on stablecoin leader Circle

Mars Finance News, according to the 13F filing submitted by Australian financial services company Macquarie Group Ltd in mid-May, compared the two periods ending December 31, 2025, and March 31, 2026. Its IBIT holdings decreased from 5.13M shares to 4.14M shares, a reduction of approximately 19.3%, with asset value dropping from about $255 million to $159 million; ETHA holdings also declined from 3.63M shares to 3.29M shares, a decrease of about 9.5%, with asset value falling from approximately $81.5 million to $52.1 million. Meanwhile, in the crypto stock sector, Macquarie Group reduced its Coinbase position by 19%, but increased its Circle holdings by 188% (valued at $2.33M at the end of Q1), and also added a BitMine position (valued at $4.15M at the end of Q1). In contrast, it did not show aggressive accumulation in the AI sector either, maintaining a generally cautious stance, with positions in Nvidia, Palantir, AMD, etc., significantly decreased, and only a few semiconductor stocks like Micron Technology slightly increased.
