Crypto World News reports that Samsung Electronics has reached a preliminary agreement with the union, easing the threat of a strike faced by this world's largest memory chip manufacturer, causing the Korean stock market to surge significantly. The benchmark Korea KOSPI index rose as much as 6.4% on Thursday, with Samsung's stock price soaring nearly 7%. Its competitor SK Hynix increased by as much as 8.4%. After futures surged, the Korea Exchange temporarily halted algorithmic trading of the KOSPI and small-cap KOSDAQ. Additionally, chip-related stocks were boosted by Nvidia's better-than-expected earnings. Eugene Asset Management Chief Investment Officer Ha Seokkeun stated, "The preliminary agreement reached between labor and management is positive news from the perspective of reducing uncertainty." He added that Nvidia's earnings call once again emphasized that AI-driven memory demand—especially high-bandwidth memory and advanced DRAM—remains exceptionally strong.
