CryptoWorld News reports that Elon Musk announced that SpaceX is officially opening large-scale AI computing power services to the public. CEO Elon Musk confirmed on the X platform on May 21 that, following a partnership with Anthropic, SpaceX is in discussions with other companies about plans.
In the collaboration with Anthropic, SpaceX leased all the computing power of its Colossus 1 data center (including over 220k NVIDIA GPUs with a capacity of over 300 megawatts) to the partner.
This computing power supply directly helped Anthropic double the usage quota of Claude Code and removed throttling restrictions during peak hours.
In addition to ground-based computing services, Musk also revealed longer-term space plans, hoping to establish in-orbit data centers in space orbit.
