The third time I saw friends rush in because Meme+celebrities shouted out trading calls, I didn’t even know what to tell them anymore… To be blunt, don’t always try to catch the last baton—attention rotation is faster than your hand speed.
My own take on a project’s “credibility” is pretty basic: first, check its GitHub—are they truly updating, or are they just editing the README? Are the commits concentrated in one person’s hands, or is there someone reviewing them? Then look for audit reports—don’t just judge by the logo on the cover; focus on scanning the “high risk/unfixed” entries and their responses. Many projects that have been audited can still leave loopholes. Finally, check the upgrade permissions: can anyone upgrade at will, is there a multi-signature setup, how many people are required, and is there a timelock (the kind that gives you time to run away). None of these guarantee safety, but at least they help filter out half of the “looks really lively” stuff… I’d rather go slow and avoid getting burned.
