Missouri Attorney General sues Coinflip, accusing it of "facilitating fraud"
Missouri Attorney General Hawley sued Coinflip, alleging that it intentionally facilitated fraudulent transactions and profited from them. The investigation found a deceptive fee structure and fraudulent conduct, and asked the court to determine that it violated the state’s Business Practices Act, ban it from operating in Missouri, and impose a $1,000 fine for each violation over the past five years, for a maximum total of $1.826 million, along with compensation to consumers. Coinflip operates 136 ATMs in Missouri, and has 4,229 ATMs nationwide.
