CryptoWorld News reports that amid escalating tensions with Cuba, the U.S. Southern Command announced that the "Nimitz" aircraft carrier strike group has arrived in the Caribbean region. The fleet includes an aircraft carrier, carrier-based aviation units, and at least one missile destroyer. On the same day the statement was released, the Trump administration announced charges against former Cuban leader Raúl Castro. Previously, reports indicated that Cuban officials believed this indictment might be paving the way for military intervention. Former Venezuelan President Maduro had previously been sued by the U.S., and later, U.S. forces launched an arrest operation in January this year, transporting Maduro to the United States for trial.
