I've been looking into broker options lately, and honestly, there are quite a few to choose from. I started researching what differentiates regulated from unregulated brokers, and basically everything. A regulated broker must comply with rules, keep your money separate, be transparent with fees... it's the minimum but important.
In Mexico, there are Actinver, GBM, Kuspit, and Bursanet, which are the well-known ones. All regulated by the CNBV, so there's the backing. What varies is the minimum deposit (from 100 pesos at Kuspit to 10,000 at Actinver), the fees, and how user-friendly the platform is. Kuspit is good if you're just starting because it has educational material and is simple. GBM and Actinver are more for people who already know what they're doing.
There's also Mitrade, which is international, regulated by ASIC. The advantage is that you can trade CFDs on stocks, currencies, cryptos all together. The minimum deposit is just $20. But well, it's something else, not the same as a regulated broker in Spain or Mexico that gives you access to local markets.
What caught my attention is that each broker offers something different. Some focus on low fees, others on analysis tools, some on education. It depends on what kind of investor you are. If you're just starting, look for something simple. If you already have experience, fees and market access matter more.
Security is the top priority, so always verify that it's regulated. Which one did you choose?
