🚨 BREAKING: Intel stock rises over 346% after $8.9 billion investment from the Trump administration

Intel (INTC) stock has increased more than 346% since the Trump administration poured $8.9 billion into the company. In August 2025, Washington made a major shift in semiconductor policy by turning billions of dollars in federal support awaiting disbursement into direct equity in Intel.
Instead of just providing grants, the U.S. government negotiated to become a major shareholder of Intel. The $8.9 billion investment includes $5.7 billion from unpaid CHIPS Act grants and $3.2 billion from the "Secure Enclave" defense program.
The agreement was announced on August 22, 2025, in which the government purchased 433.3 million shares at a discounted price of $20.47 per share, representing 9.9% passive ownership in Intel. By May 20, when the stock traded above $110, this stake was valued at approximately $48 billion, creating an unrealized gain of over $39 billion in less than a year.
