I just noticed that many people are still confused about the abbreviations that appear after stock names, so I want to share some knowledge to clarify this a bit.

When you open a trading app, you will see CA, XD, XM, T1, T2, and others after the stock name. These abbreviations are not just random letters; they tell an important story about what will happen to that stock within 7 days.

Starting with CA, which stands for Corporate Action. This indicates that the company is about to undertake a significant action. Just clicking to view will tell you what it is and when it will happen.

For the X series abbreviations, it means Excluding, which means "you will not receive the rights." For example, XD (Excluding Dividend). If you buy the stock when it goes XD, you will not receive the dividend this round. But if you hold on and another XD occurs later, you will be entitled to the next dividend.

The tip is, you need to buy the stock before the XD date. Even buying just a day before still grants you the dividend rights. Whether you buy early or late, the rate remains the same.

Besides XD, there are also XM (Excluding Meetings) — not attending shareholder meetings, XW (Excluding Warrant) — no warrant purchase rights, XR (Excluding Rights) — no rights to subscribe to new shares, and many more. Each has a different meaning.

There is also a group of abbreviations with the letter T, which serve as warnings. They indicate that the stock has surged significantly and is highly speculative. T1 means it must be bought with cash only; T2 means buy with cash and cannot be used as collateral; T3 means buy with cash, no collateral, and no offsetting. This means that when you sell, the money will be returned the next day instead of immediately.

Another set of signals is the letter H (Trading Halt). Seeing this means trading is temporarily halted for one round because news has leaked but the company has not yet made a market announcement.

SP (Trading Suspension) means trading is halted for more than one round. NP (Notice Pending) indicates the company has a report to submit. NC (Non-Compliance) means the company is at risk of delisting. ST (Stabilization) indicates the company is maintaining price stability. C (Caution) warns that the company has serious financial problems.

In summary, c/a stands for Corporate Action, indicating an upcoming event. The other abbreviations specify what kind of event it is and how it affects shareholders' rights. Understanding these abbreviations is very important because it helps you make smarter investment decisions.
