I just learned that today’s stock market opening and closing periods aren’t that easy, because there are many time slots you need to remember. If you’re trading, you should know that the first trading period is usually the most difficult—the stock prices fluctuate a lot. There are also pending orders carried over from the previous day, plus the news in the morning. All of these affect how each stock moves.

For today’s stock market opening and closing times, the Thai stock market is divided into 2 main periods: the morning and the afternoon. Before the market officially opens, there is a pre-open period from 9:30–9:55. During this time, the system collects buy and sell orders, followed by a randomized opening time from 9:55–10:00. The actual market opening time isn’t the same every day.

Today’s stock trading hours are approximately 10:00–12:30 for the morning session. Then there’s a lunch break from 12:30–14:00. The afternoon session has another pre-open from 14:00–14:25, followed by a randomized opening time from 14:25–14:30, and then actual trading from 14:30–16:30. Before the market closes, there is a pre-close from 16:30–16:35, and then a randomized closing time from 16:35–16:40.

To trade stocks effectively, you need to know which period today’s market is opening and closing in, because you can’t trade anytime like currency—you have to trade during market hours. Don’t miss the important periods 💸
