PwC, which helped Evergrande with falsifying/forging records, has recently been sued by Evergrande’s liquidator for compensation of 57 billion RMB.

Previously, PwC Hong Kong and PwC Zhongtian were each fined 300 million HKD and 441 million RMB, respectively. And PwC Hong Kong has already agreed to set aside 1 billion HKD for compensation to Evergrande’s shareholders.
After looking into other claims related to audit fraud, the compensation amounts are at most between 200 million and 400 million USD.
It feels like they’re quoting sky-high prices while settling accounts by paying what they owe.
