Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah of Enugu State has inspected several major infrastructure projects ahead of their inauguration in the coming weeks. The projects include the 40km Owo–Ubahu–Amankanu–Umualor–Neke–Ikem dual carriageway, the 14.5km Amechi Idodo–Oruku–Amagunze Road, the New Enugu Smart City, and the Enugu International Hospital.

Speaking during the inspection, Governor Mbah said the projects are part of his administration’s plan to grow Enugu’s economy from $4.4 billion to $30 billion and position the state as a top destination for investment, business, tourism, and comfortable living.
He described the 40km dual carriageway as more than just a road, saying it would open up new economic opportunities, improve access to farmlands, and create a faster route linking Enugu to the North Central region and Abuja.
Mbah praised the contractors, China Communications Construction Company (CCCC), for working day and night to meet the project deadline while maintaining quality standards. He also assured residents that his administration would continue investing heavily in rural roads to improve connectivity and economic growth across the state.
The governor further commended the progress at the New Enugu Smart City, where the first 6.5km dual carriageway has been completed and work continues rapidly on other road networks within the city.
