Opus 4.7's low thinking degree surpasses Sonnet 4.6's maximum value, Anthropic releases the first guide on intelligent agent control tuning
Monitoring shows that Claude 4.6 and Opus 4.7 have new guidelines for resolution, depth, and cost reduction. The maximum long side of screenshots is 1568px/2576px; exceeding this will be scaled proportionally. It is recommended to resize to 1280x720 (Claude) or 1080p (Opus). Opus 4.7 can match Sonnet 4.6's maximum depth at low depth settings, with tokens only ten times that of the latter. It is advised to set it to high and avoid max. Each screenshot consumes about 1800 tokens. Cost reduction has three layers: cache breakpoints, scrolling to keep the last 3 images, and compressing when depth reaches 90%. New features include computer_batch, Advisor Tool, and Teach Mode, enhancing batch execution, auditing, and playback capabilities.
