Recently, I’ve been doing a “security upgrade” for myself, and I found that, like choosing a blockchain, there are a bunch of flashy terms, but in the end, it all comes down to how much you have and whether you can sleep at night if you lose it. For small amounts, I just use a hardware wallet plus two backup copies—no need to fuss too much; as the assets grow a bit, multi-signature is really worth it, even if the signatures are from different devices you own, at least it reduces the risk of putting all your private keys on one shot. As for social recovery, honestly, it’s more like moving “password recovery” onto the blockchain, suitable for those who don’t want to be controlled by mnemonic phrases, but you need to trust those “contacts” you choose; otherwise, it’s still a mental knot.

These days, the modular and DA layer narratives are heating up again, developers are excited, but users are still asking, “So where exactly should I click?” I also feel a bit like that: as long as the underlying layers can be broken down, the main thing is not to scatter everything in the end for security. I used to be quite interested in various new protocols, but then I found that some communities immediately start competing on KPIs, and all they discuss is “whether to push forward or not,” so I silently unfollowed them. Long-termism doesn’t mean being fed by emotions every day. That’s all for now.
