just been looking into those mobile bitcoin mining apps everyone's talking about lately. honestly, the whole thing seems kinda sketchy to me. like, they promise you can mine from your phone but then you realize it's either a scam or you're barely making anything after electricity costs. saw some legit ones like Bitdeer and F2Pool on iOS that actually have decent ratings, but even then... the withdrawal minimums are crazy high and you're basically just watching your phone battery drain for pennies.
the crazy part? Bitcoin's at like $77.47K right now (up from $73K back in 2024), and people are still trying to mine it on their phones instead of just trading or holding. like why? the hardware requirements are insane for actual mining, so these bitcoin mining software options on mobile are mostly cloud-based services that charge you after the free trial ends. read somewhere that over 120 fake mining apps were floating around at one point.
if you're just getting into crypto and want to actually own Bitcoin, honestly? just buy it directly or learn to trade. the mining app route seems like a waste of time unless you've got serious capital to invest in cloud contracts. maybe it was different back in 2021 when BTC was cheaper, but now? doesn't add up. anyone else tried these things or is it just me being skeptical?
