Every year at the end of the year, I start to regret: why didn't I keep good records when I was sweeping the floor back then... NFT stuff keeps flipping around, and it’s mixed with cross-chain/aggregators/alt accounts, in the end, you only remember “I thought it was pretty cheap at the time,” and when it’s time to report, all that’s left is frustration.

My current rough method: take a screenshot of each transaction (including time and tx), then write the wallet address + purpose as a note; on-chain, use a spreadsheet to record a row for “buy/sell/transfer/fees,” don’t think it’s troublesome, it’s really better than browsing browser history at the end of the year. Especially recently, with those testnet incentives and points expectations causing a bunch of interactions, I don’t even know if the mainnet will issue tokens, but I record as if they will be issued, so that when they actually do, you won’t be scrambling to find which address did the task. Anyway, don’t go all-in before you’ve sorted out your accounts.
