Today I want to share a profound insight that penetrates the essence: understanding the mind and nature is understanding trading.
Yesterday, during a casual chat, I suddenly realized a fundamental logic:
We always compare the human body to a car, with the brain as the steering wheel, controlling direction and judgment; the heart as the engine, providing power; blood as gasoline + oil, transporting nutrients and maintaining the body's operation.
But many people live their lives incorrectly:
The steering wheel and engine are never the entire car, only parts of it.
Similarly, our brain is never truly ourselves; it is just a tool.
A complete person is a whole composed of the brain, heart, muscles, flesh, limbs, and internal organs—an integrated whole, which is the greater self.
We hold too many attachments, believing our thoughts, emotions, desires, and the mind are the true self, mistaking the small self for everything.
We are led by distractions, manipulated by emotions, trapped by attachments, never truly being ourselves.
True cultivation is using the greater self to control the small self, using the consciousness of the true heart to manage the mind’s thoughts, breaking free from attachments, observing our thoughts from a distance, not being swept away by emotions or internal conflicts.
Unity of heaven and man, the Earth is a complete life form, corresponding one-to-one with the human body:
• Earth’s mountains and land = the human skeletal framework
The Earth bears all things; mountain ranges stretch and stand tall, like bones and sinews supporting the entire body— the foundation of life, steady and unmoving, bearing everything, standing firm.
• Earth’s rivers, lakes, and seas = the blood of the human body
Water is the bloodline of the Earth, circulating all things, nourishing all living beings, irrigating plants, permeating the land, cycling endlessly—like blood flowing through limbs and bones, delivering nutrients, maintaining life’s operation.
Without water, blood ceases; life stops.
• Earth’s sunlight = the heart’s power in the human body
The sun is the heart of heaven and earth, continuously emitting light and heat, giving vitality to the Earth, driving growth, seasonal cycles, day and night—like a heartbeat, providing life energy to the whole body.
Without the sun, all things fall silent; without a heartbeat, the human body resets to zero.
• Earth’s air, wind, and rain = the breath of the human body
Air circulates, wind and rain transform, representing Earth’s breathing—exhaling old and inhaling new, balancing yin and yang of heaven and earth—like human breathing, maintaining internal qi flow.
Qi exists, and the person lives; qi disperses, and life ends.
Invisible yet indispensable.
• Earth’s plants and living creatures = the meridians and hair of the human body
Plants root in the earth; living beings are everywhere, connecting the qi of heaven and earth—like meridians and hair, linking all muscles, bones, and blood vessels, perceiving the external world, maintaining the transparency and vitality of the life body.
• Earth’s natural laws = the true heart and greater self of the human body
The operation of heaven and earth, seasonal cycles, yin and yang balance—these are the true heart of the Earth, silently controlling everything, unaffected by external influences, following the natural way—this is the greater self of heaven and earth.
• Sentient beings’ attachments = the small mind of the human body
The greed, attachments, restlessness, and conflicts of sentient beings are like chaotic thoughts in the brain—seemingly noisy, but only a small part of the life form, never the main subject.
All things and principles are interconnected; trading is the same.
Don’t be controlled by the distractions, fears, greed, and attachments of the mind.
Step out of the small self, see the greater self clearly, follow the natural laws, stay true to your original heart, avoid being swayed by emotions or desires—this is true clarity, the root of invincibility.
