Lately I've been a bit scared: a while ago I almost lost the transaction records of an address, thinking "the chain data is all there," but it was only when I needed to reconcile that I realized... On-chain data doesn't mean you can immediately clarify the costs, transfer notes, or the cross-chain transactions.

My current method is pretty crude: before and after large trades, cross-chain transfers, or staking/unlocking, I casually save the transaction hash, time, counterparty, and a screenshot (even if it's just a stress-inducing screenshot of the unlock calendar) into the same table, and write a simple note "why I did this."
When it’s time to report at the end of the year, it’s half as painful, and I definitely don’t want to scramble in a panic again.
