Mars Finance News, May 20 — U.S. President Donald Trump stated yesterday at the White House that he hopes to "end the Iran conflict very quickly." Trump said, "We will end this war very swiftly. They (Iran) will not have nuclear weapons. We hope to settle this matter in a very decent manner." Trump also claimed that Iran "is eager to reach an agreement and is tired of this war." Over the past period, Trump has repeatedly stated that the Iran conflict is close to ending. This morning, The Wall Street Journal, citing regional mediators and U.S. officials familiar with the relevant terms, reported that Iran's stance in negotiations with the U.S. to end the war has not significantly changed compared to previous rounds that failed to make progress, which has also raised doubts about whether a "way out" of the conflict can be found. The mediators pointed out that Iran still insists on its core demands, including ending the hostile state, obtaining economic relief, war damage compensation, and playing a supervisory role in the strategic Strait of Hormuz. Additionally, there are still clear disagreements with the U.S. on the issue of closing or long-term suspending its nuclear program as requested by the U.S.
