These past two days, I’ve seen people complain that cross-chain bridges are slow, shouting “Why is it still waiting for confirmation.”

To put it plainly, the biggest thing bridges fear isn’t that they’re slow—it’s the thought that if it feels fast, then it must be safe… A few multi-sig signers might let up “on a whim” or make a slip with their hands, or the oracle feeds the wrong data—no matter how lively the chain is afterward, there’s no way to undo it.
I’ve been impulsive too. Seeing the funding rate flip and wanting to move my positions to other links, I thought about doing it—then I realized those few confirmations are actually there to cool you down. Otherwise, if something goes wrong, you don’t even have time to regret it.
Recently, the unlock calendar got brought up again and it’s terrifying—so instead, I’m even less willing to mess around with cross-chain stuff. Anxiety on top of anxiety… forget it, I’ll just slow down for now.
