I’ve been testing different platforms for trading with little money, and honestly, there’s quite a difference between them. At first, I thought they were all the same, but that’s not the case. The best trading apps depend a lot on what kind of trader you are.

If you’re just getting started, Mitrade is probably your best option. You can deposit from $20, and the interface is so clean that you won’t get lost. It has integrated TradingView charts, with no execution fees and fairly tight spreads. What I liked is that they give you $50,000 in virtual dollars to practice for 90 days without risk. It’s like a complete simulator.

Now, if you already have experience and want more options, AvaTrade offers a lot more. It supports MetaTrader 4 and 5, it has a professional account if you want more leverage, and they can trade over 1,200 different assets. The minimum deposit is $100, but the variety of tools makes up for it.

For anyone looking for extreme asset variety, Plus500 has around 2,800 CFDs covering stocks, indices, crypto, and options. It’s listed on the Bolsa de Londres, so it’s pretty serious. It still requires 100 as a minimum entry.

XM is interesting if you know your way around MetaTrader. The deposit is minimal, just $5, but the leverage they offer is brutal—up to 1000x. That said, it’s only for people who know what they’re doing.

And if your thing is copying strategies from others, eToro is the place. Its copy trading system is what sets it apart. You automatically replicate what more experienced traders do. It requires a minimum of $50, but it works well if you’re a beginner.

The best trading apps really depend on your profile. Mitrade wins in simplicity, AvaTrade in options, Plus500 in asset variety, XM in leverage, and eToro in community. The important thing is that all of them are regulated, so you won’t run into any weird surprises.

Before putting in real money, use demo accounts. All of them offer them. And remember, trading involves risks—not that you put in $20 and pull out a thousand. But it’s true that nowadays, investing is within reach of anyone without needing to be a millionaire. The best trading apps have fairly significantly democratized access to the markets.
