The season for eating bayberries has arrived, but according to reports from the People's Daily, reporters secretly visited bayberry purchasing points in Fujian and found that these purchase sites were illegally adding preservatives and sweeteners, shipping over 5,000 jin (about 2,500 kg) per day.

Workers handle thousands of jin of such bayberries every day, with fresh bayberries soaked in solutions containing banned preservatives and "three-no" sweeteners, yet they themselves do not touch a single bite.
In China, it is very difficult to find something trustworthy to eat.
