Just look at how much things have changed in the world of AI tools recently. Do you remember when using artificial intelligence was expensive and complicated? Well, nowadays anyone can access quality AI websites without spending a dime. I’ve started testing several of them myself and I’m impressed with what they can do.
I started with ChatGPT because it’s practically a must-have, right? The free version now comes with GPT-5 (with some limits, of course), generates basic images, and still works well for programming and writing. After reaching the limit, it switches to the mini version, which is faster. For more features, there’s the Plus plan for about 20 dollars.
But then I discovered Google Gemini, and it changed my game. The key feature is that it pulls updated information directly from Google, so the answers have real sources. It also integrates with Gmail, Drive, and Docs, which is very convenient. This type of AI website is perfect if you work within the Google ecosystem.
DeepSeek is another one I can’t leave out. It gained fame because it’s extremely fast and completely free on their site. It works well for complex calculations and technical explanations. It doesn’t have all the hype, but it delivers.
Now, if you create content for social media, Lumen5 is amazing. It automatically turns articles into videos. There’s a limit on the free plan (about 5 creations per month), but the quality is good. The basic plan costs around 19 dollars.
For students or researchers, SciSpace is like a personal assistant. You upload a PDF of a scientific article, and it explains everything simply. It has a paid plan starting at 10 dollars, but the free version already handles a lot.
Descript makes things much easier if you do podcasts or videos. It automatically edits through transcription, removes noise, all that. The paid plan starts at 12 dollars.
ChatPDF is very specific but super useful. Basically, you chat with any PDF, ask questions, and it responds. No registration needed on the free plan.
For image generation, Midjourney is the top, but there’s no free plan anymore. It starts at 10 dollars. If you want to try something similar without spending, NightCafe offers daily credits and costs about 5 dollars on the paid plan.
There’s also that site that generates realistic faces (This Person Doesn’t Exist), which is completely free and doesn’t require registration.
In the end, if you want to set up a complete system without spending, the combo of ChatGPT + Gemini + DeepSeek covers almost everything you need for text. For images, any basic AI generator website works. And for video and productivity, Lumen5 and SciSpace fit well.
The cool thing is that nowadays, with free AI tools available, anyone can produce more and better. You don’t even need to invest money. I’ve been testing different combinations myself, and I find more useful applications all the time. It’s worth exploring and seeing which works best with your workflow.
