These days, someone is again watching large on-chain transfers and hot/cold wallet movements on exchanges, shouting "Smart money is coming." I actually feel a bit... to be honest, what you see as "on-chain" is often the version provided by the node/RPC/indexer you use, not a real-time omniscient view. If the RPC stalls or the indexer hasn't caught up, the browser display can be a half-step behind, and even the same transaction can appear at different times in different places.
I thought I was seeing things, but it turns out that the RPC I frequently use is acting up. The same transfer has been confirmed on A's side, but B's side still looks like it hasn't happened... Anyway, now when I see "anomalies," I wait a bit, check with several sources, and then decide whether to act. Better to be cautious, avoid unnecessary trouble, and get more sleep.
