Geopolitical risks cause institutional investors to withdraw $1.07 billion from crypto ETPs
Digital asset investment products recorded a net outflow of $1.07 billion last week, breaking a six-week streak of inflows and marking the third-largest weekly redemption of the year. The market sentiment reversal is attributed to institutional investors reducing exposure due to geopolitical risks related to Iran. Most of the selling pressure came from U.S-listed spot Bitcoin ETFs, led by funds from BlackRock, Ark Invest, and Fidelity. Despite the large weekly outflows, crypto ETPs have still seen a net inflow of $4.9 billion this year. Data indicates this is a targeted risk reduction behavior rather than a full market exit, as inflows into some alternative coin funds for assets like XRP and Solana increased, and European funds continue to attract capital.
SEC expected to release key framework for tokenized stocks
Reportedly, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is prepared to release an "Innovation Exemption" for tokenized securities as early as this week. This new framework will create a regulatory pathway for traditional financial institutions to experiment with issuing and trading stocks on the blockchain without undergoing the full and cumbersome registration process. This move is a significant potential catalyst in the "Real World Assets (RWA)" space, as it will lower the entry barriers for major players like the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and Nasdaq, both of which have already received approval for relevant rule changes. For investors, this marks an important step toward integrating traditional stocks with blockchain infrastructure, potentially unlocking trillions of dollars in asset value and creating new opportunities in institutional DeFi.

This means Strategy now owns over 4% of the total Bitcoin supply, which is more than 21 million coins. The sustained large-scale buying provides significant support for Bitcoin's price and sends a strong bullish signal to the market, indicating high institutional confidence in BTC as a long-term treasury asset.
