BREAKING: Meta is laying off 10% of its entire global workforce tomorrow.

8,000 employees will be cut on Wednesday while another 7,000 will be transferred to AI-related teams, meaning 20% of Meta's entire workforce is being either laid off or moved to AI divisions in a single restructuring.

More layoffs are expected later this year with a potential second round in August and another in October or November, according to some reports.

Meta has also scrapped 6,000 open roles that were never filled. The company had 77,986 employees at the end of March. After Wednesday, that number drops to roughly 70,000.
