Lately I've been looking at a bunch of PFPs and membership passes again, and project teams keep talking about "brand" and "long-term," but every time I join a community, the first thing I see is still the floor price and who changed their avatar again... To put it simply, long-term value might exist, but short-term attention is more real, especially when the market stirs up, people are even more eager to find an "identity" to band together.

These days, someone is using ETF capital flows and US stock market risk appetite to explain crypto price movements, and I find it pretty annoying: macro factors are obviously important, but what I care more about is whether I’m just jumping in because "everyone else is doing it." For someone like me who tends to be impulsive, the worst thing is buying something and then realizing I don’t even use it.

My mom asked me yesterday, "You buy an avatar, how does that count as a membership?" I could only reply half-heartedly: probably just a reason to spend money to join a group... Anyway, I’ll hold back my FOMO for now, wait for the hype to pass, and then review.
