Trump regrets that his Intel shares were fewer, claiming he took early control to seize TSMC's business.
U.S. President Trump said in an interview with Fortune magazine that he regrets having fewer shares when he previously invested in Intel on behalf of the U.S. government.
In August last year, the Trump administration announced that approximately $8.9 billion in subsidies from the Chips Act would be converted into equity (buying about 433 million shares at $20.47 each), acquiring a 9.9% stake in Intel.
Just eight months later, the value of this stake has skyrocketed to over $50 billion, with unrealized gains exceeding $41 billion.
