Today marks my 680th day of posting updates. If you think I’m a serious person, you can walk with me—and I hope the daily content helps you every day. The world is big, and I’m small. Follow me so you won’t have a hard time finding me.

519—here we are again. The eternal pain of the crypto world. That day wasn’t a pullback; it was many people’s first time truly witnessing what a liquidation/market crash looks like. On May 19, 2021, BTC plunged more than 30% at one point intraday. ETH and almost all altcoins flashed into collapse across the board. Countless high-leverage positions instantly went to zero. This wasn’t just a typical sell-off—it was a slaughter that shattered the faith in the bull market, the fantasy of leverage, and the idea of “it only goes up, never down.”

Many longtime players still remember that feeling even now: prices wouldn’t refresh, exchanges froze, and in the group chat the hype of chasing the bottom turned into silence. The second before, you were still calculating double returns; the next second, you just wanted to know whether you got wiped out. The reason 519 gets brought up again and again isn’t only because it fell so hard. More than that, it made the entire market understand for the first time: in a bull market, the most dangerous thing is never just missing out—it’s believing you won’t end up in trouble.

A few years have passed, and the narrative has cycled through one round after another—ETFs, institutions, RWA, AI, and stablecoins all arrived—but the most basic rule at the bottom of crypto hasn’t changed: when leverage is too high and emotions run too hot, the market will always find a chance to teach people to respect risk again. 519 is a scar. It’s also a reminder.
