Wass will be sworn in as Federal Reserve Chair on the 22nd, and Trump will hold an inauguration ceremony for him.
Golden Finance reports that on May 19, multiple U.S. media outlets reported that Kevin Wash will be sworn in as the Chairman of the Federal Reserve on May 22.
A White House official stated that President Trump will hold an inauguration ceremony for Wash at the White House.
On the 13th, the U.S. Senate officially confirmed Wash with a vote of 54 in favor and 45 against, and he will succeed Jerome Powell as the next Chair of the Federal Reserve, with a four-year term.
Powell’s term as Federal Reserve Chair ended on the 15th, and he has already begun serving as acting Chair of the Federal Reserve.
Trump announced on social media on January 30 that he nominated Wash as the new Chair of the Federal Reserve.
In early March, the White House submitted a nomination to the Senate for Wash to serve as a Federal Reserve Board member and as the next Chair of the Federal Reserve.
Nominated by Trump, Powell took over Janet Yellen as Chair of the Federal Reserve in February 2018.
Nominated by then-President Biden, he began his second term as Federal Reserve Chair in May 2022.
